ABOUT
Susan Brand is an artist and illustrator whose work reflects her devout interest in nature and the perpetual tension of the boundaries between man and nature.
She works in a range of media including watercolors, acrylics, printmaking, and collage. Her early career was spent designing and directing animation for broadcast and special effects.
Her work resides in several private collections as well as the collection of the State Museum of New York. In 2010, she supplied the cover illustrations for the award-winning The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elizabeth Tova Bailey.
Susan is currently focussed on long standing writing projects. She has written a middle grade novel and is steadily completing a heavily painted and collaged graphic novel.
She holds a BFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
Susan lives and works in Maplewood, NJ.
